Year round weekends filled with riding are ideal, but none better than summer and spring months, when Mount Buller opens its gates to the eagerly awaiting mountain bike crowds.
Just a few hours from Melbourne CBD by car, Mt.Buller attracts nearly all kinds of riders, from Downhill to Cross Country, Enduro and Road.
Buller’s trail network starts from the village where you can find a bike shop called ‘All Terrain Cycles’ [ ATC ], for all your last minute servicing or shopping, or to rent a range of bikes, including e-bikes. There is a full time mechanic on site providing the shop is open! The trail network is vast and spans across numerous mountain ranges, with multiple trails which you can watch being ridden here.
‘Bike Buller’ oversees the biking months of operation once the snow melts, and has taken steps to provide riders with a shuttle service on behalf ofBlue Dirt Shuttles, which allow short turn around shuttle times on their ‘Gravity Trails’. Accessible trails from the shuttle drop off are:
- International Downhill
- Yellow Brick Road
The ‘Cross Country’ or ‘Enduro’ Network stitches multiple trails together to come up with the Australian Alpine Epic Trail which is 40km in length and is a very challenging and testing ride, even for the fittest and most prepared riders. The trail begins from Mt.Buller Village and takes you out to a halfway point where you will find a cafe called ‘TBJ’ [ Telephone Box Junction Cafe ], and spits you out at the bottom of Mt.Buller Resort Entry, where you will find The Mirimbah Store to get food and drinks, and also a shuttle upto the village if need be!
Trails encountered along the Epic Ride can be viewed on our YouTube Channel individually or as a whole edit, complete with GPS Data on screen…
